How to create your FileJoy account

Why Create an Account?

Before you can prepare your taxes with FileJoy, you'll need to set up a free account. This takes about two minutes and gives you a secure space to manage all your tax information.

How to Register

Step 1: Go to the Sign-Up Page

Head to the FileJoy homepage and click Create Account in the top-right corner.

Step 2: Enter Your Email and Password

Type in the email address you'd like to use for your account, then create a strong password. Your password must meet the following requirements:

  • At least **8 characters** long
  • Contains at least one **uppercase** letter (A–Z)
  • Contains at least one **lowercase** letter (a–z)
  • Contains at least one **number** (0–9)
  • Contains at least one **special character** (!, @, #, $, etc.)

Step 3: Confirm Your Email

After signing up, we'll send a confirmation link to your email. Click that link to verify your address—this keeps your account secure and ensures we can reach you with important updates about your return.

Didn't get the email? Check your spam or junk folder. You can also click "Resend confirmation" on the login page.

What Happens After Sign-Up

Once your email is confirmed and you log in for the first time, FileJoy walks you through a quick household setup. This is where you'll:

  • Enter your name and basic personal information
  • Add a spouse or dependents if applicable
  • Set up your first tax year

Don't worry—you can always update this information later.

Tips

  • Use an email you check regularly; we'll send preparation confirmations and helpful updates there
  • Save your password somewhere safe—consider using a password manager
  • If you already have an account, click **Log In** instead to avoid creating a duplicate
