By accessing or using FileJoy ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
FileJoy is a tax preparation assistance tool that helps users organize, calculate, and prepare their tax information. The Service provides document scanning, data extraction, tax calculations, and form preparation assistance.
SCOPE OF SERVICE: FileJoy is a tax preparation tool—not a tax filing service. FileJoy does not file tax returns on your behalf with the IRS or any state tax authority. FileJoy does not currently hold IRS e-file authorization (Modernized e-File / MeF program). You are responsible for reviewing your prepared return and filing it yourself (via IRS Free File, Direct File, or by mail) or through a licensed tax professional. FileJoy is currently in beta and is not a substitute for professional tax advice.
IMPORTANT: FileJoy is not a licensed tax professional, CPA, enrolled agent (EA), or tax attorney. The information and calculations provided by the Service are for informational purposes only and do not constitute tax, legal, or financial advice. You are responsible for verifying all information and should consult with a qualified tax professional for advice specific to your situation.
FileJoy's tax calculations are based on official IRS publications, revenue procedures, and form instructions. However, tax laws are complex and change frequently. FileJoy does not provide an accuracy guarantee, errors-and-omissions insurance, or audit defense. We strongly recommend having a licensed CPA or enrolled agent review your prepared return before filing, particularly for complex tax situations involving self-employment, multiple income sources, or multi-state filing.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption of sensitive data, but you acknowledge that no system is 100% secure.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We take the security of your tax information seriously and implement appropriate safeguards to protect your data.
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by FileJoy and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FileJoy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the Service.
Without limiting the foregoing, FileJoy shall not be liable for any additional taxes owed, penalties, interest, audit costs, legal fees, or other financial consequences arising from errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the tax calculations, data extraction, or form preparation provided by the Service. You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and filing your tax return.
FileJoy does not offer an accuracy guarantee. In no event shall FileJoy's total liability to you exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
FileJoy is currently offered as a beta service. Beta features may contain bugs, errors, or inaccuracies, and are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. By using the beta service, you acknowledge the increased risk of errors and agree that FileJoy bears no additional liability for issues arising from beta functionality. We encourage all beta users to have their prepared returns reviewed by a licensed tax professional before filing.
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide notice prior to any new terms taking effect. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
